The primary objective of this site is to help students
understand the close interdependencies between the
different stages of steel production and to show how the
final properties can be controlled through composition,
processing and microstructure.
This will be achieved by looking at a number of different
applications and having the user:
consider the key properties required for
each application;
identify which stage in the production
route these properties are determined, and;
explore the relevant concepts through
interactive simulations, experiments, question &
answer exercises, etc.
