DBTT of the HSLA steel:-81 °C

This value of DBTT is for a plain carbon steel, we have already seen that a bridge plate in a long suspension bridge will be a HSLA steel with various microalloying elements present and with contributions to yield strength from a number of factors. In reality the toughness of this steel will be less than the value we have obtained but still sufficient to meet the required specifications.
