Question What type of coating is used on the strip steel used for the canning industry?

 

Red cross Sacrificial coating- incorrect, a sacrificial coating corrodes in preference to the steel.  This will still provide corrosive products that will contaminate the drink or poison the customer.

Green tick Barrier coating- correct, a barrier coating is a relatively inert material which will protect the steel underneath from the atmosphere thereby preventing corrosion.  Click here to find out which barrier coating you would select for this application.

Red cross Deep drawing and n value - Deep drawing and  n value  -  incorrect, whilst deep drawing is used to produce drinks cans, the n value is used in association with stretch forming.  Try again.

Red cross Stretch forming and n value - Stretch forming and n value  -  incorrect, stretch is used to produce components such as automotive body panels and the n value is used in association with stretch forming.  Try again.
