Capacitance

Beakers animationA capacitor is so called because it has the capacity to store charge - just like a beaker storing a liquid.

Capacitors are marked with a value which indicates their capacitance - their ability to store charge. This is explained further later.

There is also a mark which indicates the maximum working voltage.
